The People's Committee of Lam Dong province has just issued a decision approving the investment plan for the Phan Thiet Airport project - civil aviation component, located in Mui Ne ward, with a total estimated investment of nearly 3,800 billion VND.

The project aims to serve the flight operations of 4E-class civil aviation aircraft, ensuring a capacity of 2 million passengers per year by 2030; operating irregular domestic and international flights, with a land area of 74.6 hectares.

The project will select an investor through a bidding process, with an operating period of 50 years from the date of issuance of the investor approval decision.

The project aims to complete the airport system in accordance with the aviation transport development plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; to meet the increasing demand for air transport, promote socio-economic development, and at the same time ensure national defense and security requirements in the South Central region and Lam Dong province.

The Phan Thiet Airport project - civil aviation component - has a 24-month implementation period, starting from the date the investment approval decision is issued.
