Amid a maritime transport market still affected by various fluctuations and increasingly intense competition—particularly the trend of shifting cargo flows toward the deep-water port area of Lach Huyen—Tan Vu Terminal’s impressive performance once again affirms the extraordinary efforts of its entire staff and workforce.

With a spirit of proactiveness, innovation and unity, the terminal has continuously optimized operational processes, improved service quality, and ensured safety, productivity, and reliability for shipping lines, cargo owners, and both domestic and international partners.

In the very first week of December 2025, the atmosphere at Tan Vu Terminal (a branch of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company) became vibrant and full of excitement as the 1,000,000th TEU was officially handled.

This meaningful milestone marks the fifth consecutive year in which Tan Vu Terminal has maintained cargo throughput above the “one million TEU” mark, further confirming its position as one of the key container handling hubs in Northern Vietnam.

In 2025, cargo throughput at Tan Vu Terminal increased by nearly 10% compared to 2024, and is expected to reach approximately 1.1 million TEUs by year-end. This achievement not only demonstrates the terminal’s stable and sustainable growth momentum but also contributes significantly to the overall success of Hai Phong Port. The strong performance of Tan Vu Terminal, alongside the effective operation of berths 3 and 4 at Lach Huyen, has played a vital role in helping Hai Phong Port become the first and only port in Northern Vietnam to reach 2 million TEUs handled in a single year.

Speaking at the ceremony celebrating the milestone of 1 million TEUs, the representative of Hai Phong Port leadership acknowledged and commended the efforts, sense of responsibility, proactive innovation, and determination of all officers and workers at Tan Vu Terminal throughout the past period.

Hai Phong Port’s leadership expressed confidence that with its modern, synchronized infrastructure and equipment, along with a highly experienced workforce, Tan Vu Terminal will continue to uphold its role as a standout unit in container operations within the Hai Phong Port system.
