Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City seaport ranked 22nd with an output of more than 9.1 million TEUs in 2024 (up 23.8% compared to 2023). With this achievement, Ho Chi Minh City seaport increased 3 places compared to the 2024 ranking.

Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Cai Mep are also the three largest seaports in Vietnam, classified as special ports. Of which, Hai Phong and Cai Mep seaports are planned as gateway ports combined with international transit, receiving large-tonnage container ships entering and leaving the port to load goods, helping to reduce logistics costs.
Previously, these 3 seaports were also in the Top 50 seaports handling the largest container volume in the world in 2024, according to the announcement of DynaLiners Millionaires. The achievements of these 3 major seaports have put Vietnam in 6th place in the list of countries with seaports handling large container volumes.
